Overview

The city of Plymouth has a great naval history, stretching back to the time of Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish Armarda to today’s ultra modern navy dockyards. We feature two half day excursions one taking us into Cornwall and the other to rugged Dartmoor.

The Copthorne Hotel is located in the bustling city centre with sweeping views down Armarda Way. It is idea for a Christmas break. All of the en-suite bedrooms have satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, iron and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Sunday From your front door to the waiting coach for the drive to Plymouth to arrive at the hotel late afternoon. On arrival tea/coffee and Christmas biscuits are served before time to relax and dinner which is followed by love entertainment.


Day 2

MondayWe have a morning excursion along the Tamar Valley to Tavistock and the edge of Dartmoor before returning to the hotel for a buffet lunch. This afternoon is free for you to do as you wish. We have included a tea/coffee at the hotel with a quiz and a drinks reception before dinner which is followed by entertainment. For those wishing to attend Midnight Mass mulled wine will be available upon your return.


Day 3

Tuesday Merry Christmas to you all! Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, enter the Chef’s Christmas Cake Competition and then perhaps take a stroll in the city or along the Hoe to work up an appetite for our Traditional Christmas Lunch, with a glass of mulled wine and a visit from Santa. Listen to the Queen’s Speech and have a relaxing afternoon with a slice of Christmas cake and maybe a few board games will take you through to this evening’s buffet dinner. This evening we enjoy more entertainment to end our day.


Day 4

Wednesday This morning we cross the Tamar Bridge at Saltash into Cornwall for a visit to the resort of Looe, returning to the hotel in time for a light buffet lunch. This afternoon we make our way to the Pantomime to see Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have a Buck’s Fizz reception before tonight’s 4 course Gala dinner and evening entertainment.


Day 5

Thursday Another hearty breakfast before we bid a fond farewell to our hosts and depart for home. Mid-afternoon we return to our home area and waiting taxis at the end of a memorable Christmas holiday.
