This new tour for 2019 offers the beautiful counties of Shropshire and Worcester. The highlight of our weekend, is a visit to the ancient and historic Welsh Marches town of Ludlow.
The 4 star Mercure Bewdley the Heath Hotel combines 19thcentury heritage and picturesque country surrounds. The hotel is set in 20 acres of Worcestershire countryside and is close to West Midland Safari Park. It has 44 contemporary en-suite bedrooms, all with complimentary standard WiFi, a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has ground floor rooms and a lift.
Friday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive west. We make our way through the beautiful Vale of Evesham to the unspoiled market town of Pershore set on the River Avon we have time to visit the historic Abbey before continuing our drive to Kidderminster and our 4 star hotel, where we have time to settle in before dinner this evening.
Saturday This morning we drive north along the delightful Severn Valley to Bridgnorth where we take a break and have time to explore. Enjoy a coffee before we are back on our way to Much Wenlock and a scenic drive takes us along Wenlock Edge as we head for Ludlow. The stunning town of Ludlow and its castle are perched on a cliff above the picturesque River Teme in south Shropshire, one of the most unspoilt parts of rural England. It is a small market town with over 500 listed buildings situated in the heart of the Welsh Marches, the English-Welsh borderlands, an area of unforgettable and varied natural beauty. Late afternoon we leave Ludlow and head off via Cleobury Mortimer back to the hotel.
Sunday After a leisurely breakfast we leave the hotel and make our way to historic Worcester where we have time to look around and obtain lunch. You may wish to visit the stunning Cathedral or take a stroll to the riverside before returning to the coach as we head for home. Mid-afternoon we arrive in our home areas after a fabulous long weekend.
