After the great success in previous years, we are delighted to return to Babbacombe in Devon. As an alternative destination to the hustle and bustle of adjacent Torquay, Babbacombe boasts its own promenade and of course the famous Babbacombe Model Village. Situated high above two beaches and a harbour Babbacombe offers wonderful views and is also home to the historic Babbacombe Cliff Railway, one of the only original working funicular railways still in existence.

Your Accommodation:

The Babbacombe Hotel - 3 Star

Our hotel enjoys a seafront location, overlooking the famous Babbacombe Downs with far reaching views across Lyme Bay. All of the bedrooms are en-suite with a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift that serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the cross country drive to the English Riviera, to arrive at our hotel to a welcoming tea/coffee and time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2

Tuesday After a leisurely breakfast we enjoy a morning journey to Brixham with its beautiful harbour and maze of narrow, winding streets. Explore the harbour side shops, watch the fishermen, or just watch the world go by before we return to Babbacombe for free time to relax and explore our resort before dinner.

Day 3

Wednesday This morning we drive to nearby pretty Paignton to spend time before taking the scenic ride into the Dartmoor National Park with its heather-covered moorland and deep wooded gorges, beautiful lake-like reservoirs and tumbling rocky rivers. We include entrance to the interesting Dartmoor Prison Museum, to see ‘life inside’ one of the world’s most famous and notorious jails. There are many artefacts and documents on show, allowing visitors to form opinions on prison life. The museum shows more than 200 years of the prison’s turbulent history ranging from the beginning, when Dartmoor was a Prisoner of War Depot for French and American prisoners of war, to the later convict era through to today. After plenty of time to look around we return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.

Day 4

Thursday Another fine breakfast before setting of on our excursion through Totnes to delightful Dartmouth. There will be time to explore before we return to Babbacombe to relax before dinner on our final evening.

Day 5

Friday Following breakfast we return to our home areas after a relaxing break on the English Riviera.
