Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to Northumbria where we arrive at the Holiday Inn Gosforth Park Hotel to enjoy a tea or coffee and biscuits.

Day 2

Tuesday After breakfast we make our way to Tynemouth Priory with its 13th century chapel as well as WW2 gun battery. After time to explore and obtain lunch we make our way to Seaton Delaval Hall. Why not stroll around its lovely gardens or see its dramatic halls before finishing the day with a drive along the coast to Blyth Beach where we make a stop with time for a drink or an ice cream!

Day 3

Wednesday We start with a short drive to Northumberlandia, home of ‘The Lady of the North’, a stunning human landform sculpture of a lady, scaling 100ft in height and spanning a quarter of a mile. Continuing on we make our way to Morpeth where we can visit the weekly market, obtain lunch and look around the historic town. Later this afternoon we stop at Woodhorn Museum, once a 19th century coal mine, now a museum and heritage centre.

Day 4

Thursday Today we head north via Walkworth Castle to Alnwick where we can obtain lunch and explore this historic town which is just a stone’s throw away from Alnwick Castle. We then drive to Rothbury where we have a quick stop before visiting Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, regarded as the first British Country house to be built in new Greek revival style. After a good stay we return to the hotel for our final evening’s dinner.

Day 5

Friday Following breakfast we return to our home areas after a delightful Northumberland break.
