Calling all lovers of flowers! Join us as we travel to Belgium and cosmopolitan Brussels, home of the Floralientime where over 100,000 flowers are displayed in beautiful works of art that transform the City Hall and the Grand Place in heart of the city. Our break includes time in Brussels and a visit to Belgiumís National Botanical Garden.
The 4 star high rise Thon Hotel is decorated in a modern style with outstanding views across the whole of Brussels from the top floor. All the spacious ensuite rooms are well designed and have TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is ideally situated a short stroll from the Grand Place with shops, bars and restaurants close by. Lifts serve all floors.
Friday From your door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive to Folkestone during which a light breakfast is served. Upon reaching France we travel past Dunkirk and into Belgium to arrive at our hotel in Brussels with time to settle in. This evening choose from one of the many nearby local eateries for dinner.
Saturday Today is spent in Brussels. We include a tour of the city then time to view Floralientime, the amazing floral artwork in the Grand Place. The rest of the today is free for you to explore, see the cheeky Mannikin Pis, the cityís most enduring symbol, and the beautiful 13th century Gothic Sainte Michael Cathedral. This evening, once again, choose from one of the local restaurants for your evening meal.
Sunday This morning we visit the National Botanical Garden of Belgium which is located in the grounds of Bouchout Castle near the village of Meise, just north of Brussels. It is one of the largest botanical gardens in the world with an extensive collection of living plants in addition to a herbarium of over 3 million specimens. This afternoon we make our way back to the Channel port for the early evening shuttle train back to Folkestone. We arrive in or home area mid evening.
