This 3 star hotel is set in 20 acres of private gardens and woodlands that overlooks Morecambe Bay. The hotel has retained its Victorian grandeur yet still provides every modern amenity with a restaurant, bar and library. All of the bedrooms are en-suite with a TV, telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a lift to all floors.
Monday Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the scenic drive north. We visit Ripon with its small but impressive cathedral, then through glorious Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park to arrive in Grange over Sands the Cumbria Grand Hotel well in time for dinner.
Tuesday After breakfast we collect our packed lunches before joining the coach and travelling via the shores of Lake Windermere where we make a stop. We join the boat for a relaxing cruise on the lake itself before re-joining the coach and making our way to the village of Hawkshead. We take a break here before returning to Grange-over-sands via Coniston Water.
WednesdayWe travel via the medieval village of Cartmel before making our way to the fascinating Lakeland Motor Museum, showing a diverse and unique road transport collection of some 30,000 exhibits assembled over a period of around 50 years. Housed in a converted mill in the heart of the Lake District, it is much more than just a motor museum, showing local history, period shopping displays and authentic recreations. From here we return to the hotel for a light lunch. The afternoon is free for you to relax and explore Grange-Over-Sands.
Thursday Collecting our packed lunch we make our way to Keswick where today is market day. Why not wander around the variety of stalls, shops, cafes and tea rooms whilst enjoying the views of Skiddaw Mountain. Following time for exploration and lunch, we make our way back to the hotel with a stop in a delightful Grasmere village.
Friday After our final morningís breakfast, we receive our packed lunches and make our way home. We head south east to arrive in our home areas late afternoon to be greeted by our awaiting taxis.
