The 3 star award winning Rendezvous Hotel is located on the outskirts of Skipton, in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, this charming, family-run hotel boasts a wonderful canal-side restaurant and idyllic views of the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Hotel facilities include an indoor swimming pool, gym and bar. All bedrooms are en suite and have a television, free Wi-Fi, telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
Monday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the leisurely drive north to Skipton, arriving at our hotel late afternoon with time to settle before dinner.
Tuesday After breakfast we leave the hotel and head to the Dales and the beautiful village of Grassington for a short break with a chance to explore the diminutive market square and cobbled little alleyways. From here we head for Wensleydale and the magical market town of Hawes, where we stop for lunch. This afternoon we continue along Wensleydale to Leyburn before returning to the hotel for this evening’s dinner.
Wednesday Today we make our way into Wharfedale and the former spa town of Ilkley. The town is sheltered by the bulk of Ilkley Moor and is a pleasant spot to enjoy a stroll and a coffee before we continue our day. Next, we travel to Skipton. Known as the Gateway to the Dales the town is a focal point for the surrounding small towns and village. One of the most complete and best preserved medieval castles in England; Skipton Castle, dominates the Main Street. Today is market day, we have free time to search the stalls for a bargain or explore the many little alleyways leading off the Main Street. We take a wander to the interesting canal basin, where we make a lunch stop. Returning to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Thursday We begin the day with a drive to the city of Ripon. Why not visit the magnificent Ripon Cathedral? Step inside this majestic building and discover the ancient Saxon crypt, medieval woodcarvings and see what inspired the famous author of Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll. We have time at leisure before we leave midday and make our way to the boutique spa town of Harrogate. We have the afternoon free to explore the town, enjoy a lovely stroll through beautiful Valley Gardens or visit the delightful Victorian arcades for some retail therapy, returning to the hotel for dinner.
Friday After breakfast, we bid farewell to our hosts and hotel and make our way home. Arriving late afternoon to be greeted by our awaiting taxis.
