After many successful visits to the Cotswolds, we return once again. This area of outstanding natural beauty, idyllic villages of honey coloured stone and thatch, gentle rolling hills, streams and lush valleys right in the heart of England. Our tour includes visits to Blenhiem Palace, Studeley Castle Gardens, Cirencester and Batsford Arboretum some of the many Jewels that have made the region so popular. An added jewel is the superb Blunsdon House hotel our chosen base for the tour.

Blunsdon House Hotel - 4 Star

This 4 star Fenn favourite Blunsdon House Hotel is set in 30 acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside. This hotel has in indoor swimming pool and a 9 hole golf course. The back of Best Western Plus Blunsdon House Hotel overlooks the stunning Cotswolds. All of the bedrooms are en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is served by a lift.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting club class coach then on to Moreton in Marsh and Batsford Arboretum, this jewel holds an impressive collection of trees and shrubs creating an ever changing landscape. Later we continue to the picture postcard jewels of Chipping Campden and Broadway before reaching the Blunsdon House Hotel late afternoon.

Day 2

TuesdayWe view the famed Yew Trees of Painswick then drive on to the viewpoint at Birdlip before visiting elegant Cheltenham prior to spending the afternoon at Sudeley Castle Gardens owned by Lord and Lady Ashcombe. There are nine magnificent award winning which sweep round he castle all with a unique style and design. From the Mulberry tree planted in 1865 to the Queens Garden named after the four queens who have walked there, including Katherine Parr who is also buried in the grounds of St Mary’s Church.

Day 3

Wednesday This morning we visit delightful Bourton on the Water a picturesque village of golden coloured stone buildings built beside the gentle River Windrush, often referred to as ‘little Venice’ and regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England. Later we drive to Cirencester the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. The enormous wool church dominates the market square and the new Roman Museum is well worth a visit. We return to the hotel for a cream tea.

Day 4

Thursday We discover historic Tetbury, Prince Charles lives at nearby Highgrove, and the southern Cotswold villages of the Frome Valley before spending time at the beautifully restored railway building in the heart of Swindon which today houses a massive modern shopping centre and a wonderful steam Museum of the Great Western Railway, where visitors of all ages get to climb aboard famous locomotives.

Day 5

Friday Our route home takes us to the pretty Cotswold village of Burford then Blenheim Palace, home of the Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The Palace is a unique example of English Baroque architecture with hand painted ceilings, amazing porcelain, tapestries and paintings displayed in each room. We have time to explore the Palace, Park and gardens before returning to our home area late afternoon.
