Westerwood Hotel - 4 Star

The 4 star Westerwood hotel, a Fenn Holiday favourite, is located between Glasgow and Edinburgh and is set in acres of spectacular grounds, with stunning views over the 18 hole golf course towards the magnificent Campsie Hills. The hotel has a large leisure club with magnificent swimming pool, a relaxing spa, bars and restaurants. All of the en-suite bedrooms have satellite TV, telephone, a hairdryer, ironing facilities tea/coffee-making facilities and a hairdryer. A lift serves all floors.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Sunday From your front door to the waiting coach then north by motorway to make a lunch stop in north Yorkshire. Continuing on we enter Scotland at Gretna Green then on through the Lowther Hills to reach the Westerwood Hotel late afternoon. We are greeted by a tea or coffee and traditional Scottish shortbread followed by time to relax before dinner.


Day 2

Monday A full Scottish breakfast before our first excursion; we drive to Scotland’s capital city Edinburgh. En-route we pass the newest landmark in the country, the iconic ‘Kelpies’ at Falkirk. Once in Edinburgh we include a short guided tour of both the New and Old towns before free time for sightseeing or last minute Christmas shopping. We return to our hotel mid-afternoon, in time for mulled wine and mince pies. Dinner this evening is followed by live entertainment.


Day 3

Tuesday Merry Christmas! We enjoy another full Scottish breakfast this morning then time to exchange gifts and seasonal greetings A traditional Christmas Lunch will be served with hats and crackers – Santa may even pop in for a visit! This afternoon the Queen’s Speech will be shown in the Flemings Lounge and we enjoy a 3 course dinner this evening.


Day 4

Wednesday A leisurely Scottish breakfast before we join the coach for a full day excursion in Glasgow. We include a city tour then time for lunch. This afternoon we visit the King’s Theatre for the pantomime ‘Aladdin’ (‘Oh yes we do!’). We return to the hotel late afternoon with time to relax before dinner followed by more entertainment.


Day 5

Thursday Our final Scottish breakfast before bidding farewell to our hosts at the Westerwood. We travel south to Gretna then cross into England and by motorway to return to our home area late afternoon after a memorable Scottish Christmas.
