Overview

After much success in 2019 we return to the beautiful coast and countryside of West Wales. Our base is the little headland village of Gwbert on Sea situated close to the market town of Cardigan with spectacular views of the sea and surrounding countryside. From here we take in some of the regions National Park scenery and coastal villages.

Cliff Hotel & Spa - 3 Star

Enjoying a prime seafront location and set in 30 acres of headland overlooking beautiful Cardigan Bay, the Cliff Hotel has been recently refurbished. Public rooms include a restaurant, quiet lounge, conservatory and two bars. The health spa hosts a salt water hydro spa, steam room, sauna, hot tub and gym. All the tastefully decorated bedrooms are en-suite with colour TV, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift to all floors.



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

Monday From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive west, making a lunch stop in the historic cathedral city of Worcester. This afternoon we drive through the scenic Cambrian Mountains to Aberystwyth then a coastal drive to reach our holiday hotel late afternoon with tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival. We have time to relax before dinner this evening.


Day 2

TuesdayWe collect our packed lunches before visiting nearby Cardigan, a charming little town with Georgian and Victorian houses then take a drive through the delightful Teifi Valley to visit the Welsh National Woollen Museum in the quaintly named Drefach Felindre, once the centre of a thriving woollen industry. The historic Cambrian Mill is a special place with a spellbinding tale to tell. We return to the hotel this afternoon with time before dinner.


Day 3

Wednesday Another scenic drive this morning, along the Pembrokeshire peninsula to tiny St David’s, home of Wales’ smallest cathedral. After a short stop we travel along the coastal road to Solva and Newgale before arriving in Haverfordwest. Our return to the hotel is over the gentle Preseli Hills.


Day 4

Thursday Collecting our packed lunches we join the coach for a visit to the popular holiday resort of Tenby, but first making a visit to the Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Factory and shop for an interesting insight into the production of the delightful product and possible tasting of the end result. Our return from Tenby is by way of the Pembrokeshire Heritage Coast.


Day 5

FridayWe journey home, with our route taking us along the Vale of Neath and over the ‘Heads of the Valley’ road to the Wye Valley where we make a lunch stop. Continuing on we join the motorway, arriving in our home areas late afternoon to be greeted by our awaiting taxis.
